The
Byer Family successfully introduced a new collectible art form to
America, after Joyce Byer crafted the first carolers for her personal
use. The carolers are now synonymous with the Christmas season, and
the bygone days when people clustered in small villages and town squares.
Each caroler is handcrafted in Pennsylvania by a team of artisans
working in plaster, tissue, clay and fabric. No two carolers have
the same combination of clothing and hand-colored expression. The
Christmas carolers have now been complemented by carolers for other
holidays and for scenes of everyday life.
The
hallmark expressions represent the simple joy we should all find
in our daily lives. Our store has a long history representing Byer's
Choice carolers, so we maintain an inventory of past year's carolers,
as well as the full line of current work. Eventually these figurines
are sold out and only live on in the hearts of the collectors who
acquired them in time. People delight in creating display scenes
for their carolers for every season.
